A Year in Review - 2023 Successes

Greetings Friends,

As we embrace the spirit of giving this December, we give thanks to all of you and the meaningful impact you have had on art students throughout the year. Your support fuels our tireless efforts to enhance and promote the arts through continued higher education for young artists alike.

Over 30 years ago, we embarked on a journey to evolve the student artist community and work with educators and students to develop an ecosystem of success, taking the necessary steps to turn possibilities into realities for young artists. Our long and deep involvement with the art community will enable us to continue our important mission and ensure the arts have a path to success, for many generations to come.

“I am grateful for the collaborations and partnerships that the foundation has achieved. As our scholarship recipients graduate, I’m excited to see the positive impact they will continue to have in the artist community. The Spanish Word Mestizo translates to one of mixed blood. The mixture that creates the melting pot of artists is what makes the profession unique and special,” says Amado Peña.

Our first, simplest, and most important imperative is to discover and mentor new student artists and build the foundation to sustain their careers over the long run. Through the generosity of our donors, students are provided with the opportunity to develop a healthy, sustainable, and exciting art ecosystem in which artists can thrive for decades to come. We fulfill that goal by using our ingenuity to drive the industry forward as technology and the world keep changing.

The success of the foundation includes:

  • Over 500 scholarships awarded and funded

  • Over 500 attendees at various events throughout the year

  • Over $10,000 invested in continued higher education scholarships

Thank you once again for the incredible 2023 in which our student artists and our Board of Directors achieved remarkable things.

We’re excited for what will be an eventful and cheerful 2024.

With sincere thanks from our hearts,

Warmest Wishes,

Amado & JB Peña &

Art Has Heart Board of Directors

Amado's Birthday Wish

Dear Art Has Heart Family,

On October 1st, I will be turning 80. Born in the midst of a War my parents cherished the birth of their first born. They had dreams for their son, and I grew up chasing dreams.

Amado Peña Sr., Me (Amado), and María Arámbula Peña

My dream of becoming an artist became a reality. For many young people, their dreams of becoming an artist or having a career in the arts elude them because of their families’ economic needs. Art Has Heart was created to help these talented and motivated students pursue a career in the arts.

Please join Art Has Heart in making scholarships available to these students by donating to Art Has Heart as a birthday gift to me. Since 80 is my number this year, open your hearts with an $80 donation. All donations to Art Has Heart are tax deductible.

Your donation to Art Has Heart may be made by visiting the website, http://www.arthasheart.org/, or by mailing a check to Art Has Heart 23 A Arroyo Nambe Santa Fe, NM 87506.

With Love Always,

Amado M. Peña, Jr.

August 2022 Update

Dear Art Has Heart Followers,

As most of us have been trudging through the past 2 years with caution and diligence, the foundation has been no exception, and the Board of Directors is continuing to work hard to continue the important mission of Art Has Heart.

Thanks to your generosity, the foundation was able to award 9 scholarships in 2021, to students across the country. These students come from a variety of backgrounds but share a common love for the arts. Through the continued support of donors each year, the foundation is able to fully operate and expand the scholarship program to many deserving students. As the saying goes, “it takes a village…”, and you are a part of the reason for their success in their higher education endeavors.

As we continue our fundraising and community engagement efforts, we are proud to continue our partnership with Austin Community College (ACC). Amado was selected to develop a large-scale mural for the new campus at ACC. The “Bridges to Success” mural will be officially unveiled on September 20, 2022 in Austin, TX. More information will be forthcoming via our social media, website, and email.

Austin Texas has a special place in the heart of Amado Pena. He was a teacher in many parts of Texas, including Austin. Boots & Bats will continue this upcoming spring – Save the Date – April 29, 2023.

We appreciate our Art Has Heart Family of followers. Please feel free to share this news with your friends and family who might have an interest – we would love to have their support, as well!

Enjoy the last of the summer days with friends and family.

Blessings to you and yours…from ours!

JB & Amado Pena

Thank You & Happy New Year

Dear Friends of Art Has Heart,

As another year draws to a close, most of you will be in the midst of the festive season. This is a very special time of year as it gives people a break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. It provides many of us with time to enjoy the company of family and friends that is all too often missing the rest of the year. We reflect on the special moments and our commitment to Art Has Heart Foundation.

2021, without a doubt, has been one of the most unusual times. While keeping with the spirit of this joyous time, it is equally important to take a few moments and recall our past events and charity work that has changed the lives of so many students.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our supporters for their tremendous generosity throughout the years. We couldn’t continue to impact the lives of so many deserving students without you. We are hopeful to have another successful Boots & Bats fundraiser, in collaboration with Austin Community College, in the near future.

Our wishes for a peaceful and healthy season and happy new year - our sincere appreciation to all of you.

We invite you to visit www.arthasheart.org/donate-today to contribute to the legacy of these aspiring students.

Warmest Wishes,

Amado & JB Pena
